How to Train Your Trainer

With CalFresh Healthy Living funding coming to a close, it is now more crucial than ever to provide meaningful and impactful training to community champions so that they can take over some of the work that we do. But creating a "Train the Trainer" from scratch can be a daunting task. Join this two-hour webinar for some tips, resources, and best practices to get you started. In the months after the webinar, Leah's Pantry will offer Office Hours to provide one-on-one support as you tackle this critical step of responsible CalFresh Healthy Living wind-down. Although this session will focus on Direct Education, we will also discuss Policy, Systems, and Environment (PSE) work.

Weight Bias in Public Health

Join the Bay Area Nutrition and Physical Activity Collaborative (BANPAC) and weight discrimination expert Virgie Tovar for a powerful, thought-provoking two-session training on dismantling weight stigma in public health. Together, we’ll critically examine the cultural and institutional frameworks that have shaped dominant narratives about weight, health, and responsibility. Participants will gain new vocabulary, conceptual tools, and practical strategies for identifying and interrupting weight bias in research, policy, and practice. This session invites honest reflection, transformative learning, and a reimagining of what equitable public health can look like when every body truly counts.
